IDEF International Defence Industry Fair, which is being organized under the management and responsibility of Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF) since 1993, served for the purpose of promoting to the world and increasing international competitive power of national defence industry at the beginning. In a short time, IDEF became an important international promotion, marketing and cooperation platform of defence, security, naval, aviation and aerospace fields, grown into one of the biggest defence industry fair of the world, regarding the numbers of exhibitors and delegations participating the fair.
At IDEF (International Defence Industry Fair) which has been organized biannually since 1993 under the administration and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation and hosted by the Ministry of National Defense, state-of-the-art equipment, materials and systems produced in the fields of defense, security, maritime and aerospace industry are exhibited. Thus, technological developments in these sectors can be observed by delegations, companies and visitors. Due to these roles, IDEF is one of the most important international defense industry cooperation and promotion platforms in the world.
IDEF 2019, organized under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey between 30 April - 03 May 2019, will continue to be a meeting point for delegations and companies arriving from all over the world.
It is also of great importance to introduce state-of-the-art defense industry products at home and abroad and to display them to procurement authorities. In this regard, I wholeheartedly believe that IDEF, which is one of the leading promotion platforms in the world, will maintain to meet the requirements of the participant companies with great success.
Most important of all, the networking between the official delegations, Turkish authorities and domestic/foreign companies participating in the fair will contribute to regional and global peace. IDEF will continue to host many bilateral and multilateral cooperation talks and agreements in the field of international defense industry.
I would like to emphasize that, as Ministry of National Defense, we will continue to provide support for the success of IDEF and we will be pleased to host all companies in İstanbul operating in this sector as well as hosting the official delegations of friendly and allied countries on the occasion of IDEF 2019, thus providing a base to the development of international cooperation in the field of defense industry.
